In the first part of the commercial truck tornado report, we discussed the impact that vacuum trucks will have on the clean up efforts necessary to rebuild the decimated communities in the tornado-ravaged, southern states of the U.S. As important as these vacuum trucks are, we cannot forget about the other essential commercial truck being used to clear the carnage that Mother Nature left behind. In a team effort, vacuum trucks and crane trucks will provide the heavy lifting and heavy cleaning required to get these towns back to what they once were as quickly as possible.

Crane trucks for sale that are necessary for post storm cleaning and rebuilding are trucks mounted with a hydraulically operated crane or boom. Crane trucks have their own engines and are mounted on a rubber-wheeled chassis. Their importance lies in their abilities to operate as a crane, yet can be easily moved from one location to another even when carrying a load. The crane truck types are convenient as they can move over streets and highways; they also offer flexibility in cargo and load handling in an efficient manner.

The rough terrain crane truck as well as the all-terrain crane will be the primary types used to both clear the waste and help rebuild the communities. These crane trucks utilize a self-propelled boom, mounted on a truck and designed for off-road and/or rough applications. Clearly, with the debris left behind by these massive, unrelenting storms, crane trucks must have the ability to transport the large remnants by driving over the to-be-cleaned roads, regardless of what covers them. These cranes are used for lifting and carrying materials for construction projects, building of bridges and even usage by some chemical plants during the aftermath of storms like these so they present a versatile and well rounded remedy for before and after nature’s tragedies.

For the post storm and post clean up reconstruction, the crane is a necessary piece of equipment to the modern construction field. Crane trucks are the most well known boom trucks around and are a fixture at just about every major construction site. Cranes primarily facilitate the fast and easy transport of heavy building materials and components from the ground to higher locations. Apart from construction needs, crane trucks can be used to hoist cars that have been totaled or wrecked onto tow trucks, or used to hoist livestock onto transporters to new farms or fields. Most big city fire departments have at least one very long crane truck. Crane trucks can double as bucket trucks and used to get to people high up, who are in need of rescue and are essential in the movement of generators that need to be placed in new areas or buildings that have been significantly damaged and are in need of salvaging or serious repair. Crane trucks become a vital element in weathering the storm and restoring order to places that, without them, would be in complete disarray.
